Executive Producer (CP) Kim Tae-eun, who was sentenced to over a year in prison for manipulating the voting rankings of Mnet's "Idol School," is reportedly still employed by Mnet. 


Mnet rehired CP Kim Tae-eun after she was released from prison in February 2022. This was another surprise for viewers who assumed that she would have left or been fired.


CP Kim Tae Eun was indicted in July 2020 for allegedly tampering with the voting for the previous episode of "Idol School. He initially denied all allegations, but as the investigation expanded and evidence surfaced, he eventually admitted to the manipulation and was taken into custody the following June, with the remainder of his sentence completed after serving eight months in prison.


"Idol School," which aired in 2017, is the audition program that created the girl group Fromis_9 (now known as Pledis under HYBE). With the same format as the "Produce" series of creating a "debut group with my own hands," the entire season of "Produce" was suspected of being rigged in 2019, and most of the allegations were proven to be true.


Recently, CJ ENM was criticized for rehiring PD Ahn Joon-young and CP Kim Yong-beom, who were accused of vote rigging. While the company's image has been tarnished by self-righteous decisions that contradict ESG management, the revelation that CP Kim Tae-eun, another alleged culprit, is still at the company is likely to cause further damage.

Fromis_9 Disbandment, Comeback, and Cancellation News
